What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Decorator position at I Do Events?
What it’s like to work with us: We are a fun, fast paced, small crew who work to make stressful days beautiful and easy going. Though the job entails hard work, you watch a bride’s visual and aesthetic come to life in a matter of hours.
What we’re looking for: We are in search of a detail oriented, hard working, organized individual who wants to learn and succeed in the world of events. In addition, they’ll work well with a team, problem solve on the fly, and ensure no tasks are left unfinished.
What you get to do:
- Propose new ideas to improve the planning and implementation process or to refresh future events
- Ensure proper planning, acquiring and setup of rental items and decor for the events
- Take ownership of the event, do what is needed without being asked, have strong follow through and communication skills throughout the event from inception to completion
- Be organized and detail oriented, utilizing checklists or other systems to ensure no task is left undone; anticipate events and plan ahead; prepare for the unexpected; remain focused on the end result
- Remain calm under pressure; Handle crisis management as it unfolds and remain flexible to change as events happen
- Find solutions to any problems that arise concerning services
- Have fun! We get to work with brides on their wedding day!
Desired Qualifications:
- 18yrs or older
- Valid driver license
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- Ability to be on your feet for 8 hour shifts
- Ability to easily communicate ideas and suggestions
- Willingness to help out with the not so fun stuff when needed
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and effectively problem solve issues that may arise
Hours: Part time hours, mainly on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Timing is widespread between arriving at the office at 6am for early morning setups and sometimes ending shifts at 4am from late night teardowns after weddings. Safety is a major role in scheduling so we always take that into consideration!
Starting Pay: $15 per hour
