Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation routes while ensuring timely pickup and drop-offs
- Utilize GPS and other tracking systems to monitor the vehicles/drivers and provide updates to clients.
- Perform data entry tasks related to dispatching activities, maintaining accurate transportation records.
- Analyze trip related data to optimize routes and improve overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with drivers, clients, and third-party providers to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain communication with management to ensure all vehicles are properly utilized and maintained.
- Assist in training new dispatch staff on systems and procedures as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching or a related field within logistics is preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems and tools.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze route/trip data for effective decision-making.
- Proficient in using GPS technology for route planning and tracking.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
