We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Scrap Metal Buyer/Regional Account Manager to join our team at I.K. Hofmann USA, Inc.
As a key member of our commercial operations team, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities of ferrous steel commodities to support designated processing facilities or geographical regions.
You will collaborate with the Commercial Operations Director to develop and execute regional Buy Plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of scrap metal buyers, focusing on efficiency, productivity, and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with scrap metal suppliers, dealers, and industrial accounts to ensure a steady and competitive supply of materials.
- Monitor regional and national scrap metal markets, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform purchasing decisions.
- Establish and track KPIs for the buying team, providing coaching, support, and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing strategies with company goals.
