What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrap Metal Account Manager/Buyer position at I.K. Hofmann USA, Inc.?
Our client, a leader in the Metal Recycling industry is looking to add a Commercial Scrap Buyer to their team.
Primary Responsibilities of Commercial Buyer :
- Negotiate and acquire ferrous and non-ferrous metals, adhering to guidelines set by upper management or department heads.
- Devise and execute acquisition strategies to tap into new markets for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Regularly visit and cultivate relationships with current and potential suppliers, such as salvage operations, metal traders, construction sites, and industrial sources, to explore and secure new channels of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
- Monitor and analyze trends in the metal commodity market, aligning procurement activities with material flow trends to enhance profit margins.
- Achieve or surpass objectives in terms of volume and profit through strategic procurement of scrap metal.
- Ensure compliance of all procured metals with specified quality standards.
- Investigate supplier issues, ensuring all concerns are documented and corrective actions are taken as per company protocols.
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports, and participate in review meetings to discuss outcomes and strategies.
