What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at I|O Godfrey?

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to restaurant guests and restaurant staff. Greet, and make feel welcome, every guest entering restaurant and hotel.
- Greet and acknowledge guests while smiling and making eye contact.
- Recognize repeat guests while smiling and making eye contact.
- Build a rapport with guests while walking them to the table.
- Pull out chairs and/or tables before guests are seated.
- Accommodate guests needs, i.e. wheel chair, restrooms, movement of drinks from one location to another, etc.
- Act as a liaison between management and service staff.
- Communicate guest complaints and compliments to management.
- Communicates guests’ needs to staff/management, i.e. celebrating anniversary and/or birthday, etc.
- Invite and welcome guests back upon completion of their visit.
- Alerts the kitchen of business flow, i.e. how many guests will soon be ordering, how many guests are waiting to be seated, etc.
- Walk the floor and provides floor updates to management, i.e. how many open tables, etc.
- Ensure that guest seating is rotated between all service stations ton optimize service.
- Answer telephone, take new reservations and maintain current reservations within procedural guidelines.
- Master Tock reservation system within two days.
- Must be knowledgeable about The Godfrey Hotel and I|O Godfrey.
- Must be knowledgeable about surroundings, i.e. nearby entertainment, stores, etc.
- Perform all duties in adherence to the company standards.
- Must have the ability to provide friendly, courteous and professional service to all internal and external customers/guests, at all times.
- Perform all duties and sequences of service in adherence to standards.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and late hours when necessary.
- Must have the ability to report to work on time and on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $20
