Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. This role involves working closely with dogs and other animals, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment while assisting with their daily needs.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
- Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians.
- Engage in dog handling and training activities to promote positive behavior.
- Support pet grooming tasks as needed, ensuring animals are well-groomed and comfortable.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the well-being of all animals in the facility.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or larger animals.
Experience
- Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or in a veterinary setting is advantageous.
- Skills in pet grooming or knowledge of animal care practices will be beneficial.
- A strong ability to handle various breeds of dogs and other animals safely and effectively is essential.
