Reports to: Middle School Principal
Position Summary:
i3 Academy Middle School is seeking a committed 6th-grade math teacher who employs innovative teaching methods, combining engaging, hands-on activities with clear, step-by-step instruction to cultivate a profound understanding of mathematical concepts in our scholars. The candidate must demonstrate extensive knowledge of upper elementary and/or middle school mathematics, as evidenced by professional experience and/or college-level coursework.
Job Function and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the math curriculum is implemented effectively, staying aligned with state standards and network goals.
- Utilize a variety of specified teaching methods and strategies to differentiate instruction, ensuring that scholars attain proficiency in both skills and content through their assigned learning activities.
- Incorporate technology, manipulatives, and interactive activities to make math concepts more accessible and engaging.
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to gauge scholar understanding and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Work closely with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to align instructional practices and share best strategies through grade level, content and professional learning community meetings.
- Maintain specified network approved documentation of Tier 2 interventions implemented through the utilization of the MTSS process.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on scholar progress and addressing concerns promptly.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and emerging trends in math education.
- Adhere to all school policies, state regulations, and ethical standards in education.
- Follow and apply the schoolwide approved curriculum with full adherence.
- Adhere to and apply approved network and schoolwide routines and procedures in all areas, including classroom management, lesson designing, safety protocols, duty responsibilities and other areas as assigned by building administrator.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education
- Active State of Alabama K-6 or Middle School Math certification
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of 6th-grade math concepts, including fractions, decimals, ratios, geometry, and introductory algebra.
- Experience in teaching upper elementary and/or middle school math.
