About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Community Engagement Liaison (MCEL) with expertise in engaging HCPs, including Principal Investigators (PIs) at clinical trial sites. This role serves as the key interface between our community outreach team and the medical community.
The ideal candidate knows how to connect with HCPs as they engage underserved patient populations affected by target disease states. Critical to the role is a deep understanding of the clinical trial ecosystem, and experience working with clinical researchers, physicians, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to facilitate participation in clinical studies and community-based healthcare initiatives.
This position requires a professional who can conduct clinical conversations with medical professionals, ensuring seamless collaboration between our community outreach team and stakeholders in the medical community.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Engagement & Trial Support:
- Establish and maintain relationships with clinical trial sites, Principal Investigators, and research staff to support patient recruitment and study awareness.
- Act as a liaison between our community outreach team and clinical sites, ensuring alignment between engagement efforts and study objectives.
- Educate and engage underserved community leaders about available clinical trials and disease-state education.
- Coordinate events, workshops, and campaigns that bridge the gap between clinical research, medical professionals, and the communities they serve.
Disease Awareness Community Outreach & Advocacy:
- Work with HCPs treating patients in target disease states to ensure they are informed about outreach programs and resources available for underserved patients.
- Support broader community outreach efforts, ensuring that engagement strategies resonate with both HCPs and patient populations.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication:
- Represent our firm at medical conferences, industry events, and community health forums.
- Facilitate discussions with clinicians, pharmacists, and health system stakeholders to improve collaboration on clinical and outreach initiatives.
Data & Insights Management:
- Track engagement metrics and report on HCP and clinical site participation in outreach programs.
- Provide insights on barriers to trial recruitment or community healthcare access and recommend strategic solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Industry Experience:
- 5 years in pharmaceutical sales, medical science liaison (MSL), clinical operations, or a related role.
- Proven ability to engage healthcare professionals, including Principal Investigators and clinical trial sites.
- Strong understanding of clinical trials, patient recruitment processes, and HCP engagement strategies.
Technical & Communication Skills:
- Ability to have clinical-level conversations with HCPs, Key Opinion Leaders, Principal Investigators, and research teams.
- Exceptional relationship-building and presentation skills in both clinical and community settings.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus for engaging diverse communities.
Leadership & Adaptability:
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Experience leading HCP engagement initiatives and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
