JOB TITLE: Bookkeeper

REPORTS TO: Director of Finance, Public Sector
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No
JOB LOCATION: Castle Rock, CO
TRAVEL: 0-10%
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cash Application for Customer Payments: Apply customer payments to the correct accounts, ensuring accurate recording in the financial system.
- Aged Accounts Receivable Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports for aged accounts receivable to monitor outstanding customer balances and facilitate collections.
- Crosstrain and Assist Billing Procedures: Collaborate with the billing department and assist in various billing procedures, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Work Client Chargebacks: Assist in resolving client chargebacks by reviewing details and helping to manage adjustments when necessary.
- Assist with Administrative Duties: Provide general administrative support across departments, including but not limited to answering phone calls, managing office supplies, scheduling meetings, data entry, and other tasks as needed to ensure the efficient operation of the business.
- Generate invoices using an automated system, review invoices, and send invoices to clients via an automated system.
- Update receivable by monitoring unpaid invoices and completing collection tasks as needed, including direct contact with clients.
- Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, and customer service
- Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
- Resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
- Resolve collections by examining customer payments and documentation.
- Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- May review orders, enter new clients in system, and invoice clients
- Performs Other Duties as Assigned: Take on additional tasks to support the smooth operation of the company.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail necessary.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to calculate and manage accounting figures.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Computer skills and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Ability to be flexible in completing a variety of tasks daily.
