JOB TITLE: Product Owner
DEPARTMENT: Public Sector - Utilities
REPORTS TO: Chief Product Officer
JOB LOCATION: Remote
TRAVEL: 15-20%
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Product Owner will be responsible for maximizing the value of products in its target market, while representing the end user of a software product during product planning, development, and release, as part of the development process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define goals and create a vision for development projects.
- Act as a primary liaison by communicating with stakeholders, including customers, business managers, and the development team to make sure the goals are clear and the vision is aligned with business objectives.
- Manage backlog items and prioritize them based on the overall strategy and business objectives.
- Map out project dependencies with the project coordinator to inform the necessary sequence of development.
- Prioritize projects and the needs of the stakeholders on the basis of scope, budget and time.
- Understand and anticipate the client’s needs to more effectively manage the development process.
- Oversee the development of the product once vision, strategy, and product priorities are set through all phases including planning, refinement, review and sprint.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Four (4) years related or software support experience
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task, manage workload, take accountability and deliver results to meet competing priorities
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and initiative with a positive attitude
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related
- 2 years of management experience
- 2 years of project management experience
