SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As a Release Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the release of software applications and updates. You will work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure that releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality. You will also be responsible for maintaining release schedules, managing risks, and ensuring that all release processes are followed.
We're looking for someone who has experience in release management, understands software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices, and has a passion for ensuring smooth and successful software releases. Our ideal candidate has experience with release management tools and processes and is detail-oriented and organized.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a point of contact for all release-related activities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the release of software applications and updates
- Maintain release schedules and ensure that all releases are delivered on time
- Manage risks and issues related to releases
- Ensure that all release processes are followed and that all necessary approvals are obtained
- Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure smooth and successful releases
- Communicate release status and updates to stakeholders
- Continuously improve release processes and practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- 2 years of experience in release management or a related field
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices
- Experience with release management tools and processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Azure DevOps
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Certification in release management or a related field
