Clinical Laboratory Scientist - Microbiology (Nights)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our Microbiology team. This full-time, night shift position (Mon-Fri, 11 PM - 7 AM, alternating weekends and holidays) offers a competitive salary range of
93,873 - $120,685.50.
About the Role :
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs a variety of microbiology tests using manual and automated methods. Responsibilities include :
- Performing and documenting pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of quality control activities, instrument maintenance, and proficiency testing.
- Adhering to laboratory quality assurance procedures and identifying / documenting any issues that may affect test performance.
- Ensuring the accuracy and quality of test results.
- Notifying clinicians of critical values and meeting STAT turnaround time requirements.
- Participating in regulatory readiness activities (CAP, AABB, NYSDOH, Joint Commission).
- Maintaining required continuing education credits.
- Managing inventory of reagents and supplies.
