Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced RN Nurse Manager for Children's Services to oversee the daily operations of our pediatric unit. This role is responsible for leading nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with hospital policies and pediatric healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive pediatric nursing experience, and a commitment to providing family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pediatric nursing staff to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices in line with pediatric healthcare regulations.
- Ensure compliance with hospital standards, state and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Monitor patient care quality, safety protocols, and infection control measures.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Manage department budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
- Provide education and support to patients' families, ensuring a compassionate and supportive care environment.
- Lead performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and staff satisfaction.
- Address and resolve patient concerns, staff conflicts, and operational challenges.
- Stay up to date with advancements in pediatric nursing and implement evidence-based practices.
Job Qualifications
- Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- Minimum 3 years acute care Nursing experience in PICU, Pediatrics, or Childrens Services
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Charge, Coordinator, Supervisor, or Managerial and above
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Current Neonate Resuscitate (NRP) certification or must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- STABLE must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
