This pivotal role involves preparing comprehensive financial statements, tax returns, and maintaining accurate reconciliations on promissory notes and cessions to trusts.
Our ideal candidate will reside anywhere in the United States and will travel occasionally.

This pivotal role involves preparing comprehensive financial statements, tax returns, and maintaining accurate reconciliations on promissory notes and cessions to trusts.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting – 50%
- Preparation and presentation of semi-annual and annual financial statements for multiple reinsurance companies.
- Accurate recording and reconciliation of monthly bank statements into cession to trust reconciliations.
- Management of receivables and payables with detailed reconciliation and analysis.
- Analysis of client's earnings and loss ratios, reporting findings to the Risk Management department.
- Accurate processing of general journal entries.
- Timely preparation of tax returns and 7004 tax extensions.
- Providing dividend income data for accurate 1099 recording.
- Calculating tax liability, advising clients of payment requirements.
- Preparing tax letters for clients, notifying of withdrawals from their trust accounts.
- Updating cession to trust reconciliations.
- Preparing information on promissory notes and reconciliations.
- Performing buyout and liquidation analysis as required.
- Prompt and professional client/agent correspondence.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five years of related accounting experience.
- Previous experience within the insurance or service contract industry preferred.
- Proficient in presenting financial statements to clients.
- Proficient in using MS Office; familiarity with Great Plains is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of performing under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organizational capabilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, adaptable, and learning-oriented.
