A current Iowa License as a Practical Nurse is required. OR Education [formal]: Graduate of an approved school for medical assistant. Credentialed as a medical assistant is required. (CMA, RMA, NCMA) Experience: Six months previous ambulatory care experience is preferred. Additional experience involving computerized data equipment is preferred Special Skills and Competencies: Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain and display professionalism with customers and coworkers. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of nursing practice, including the ability to make sound judgments in clinical situations. Conceptual awareness of the delivery of care to age-specific groups. Understanding of teaching/learning principles. Flexibility and adaptability. Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability for own actions. Sense of the importance of the nurse’s role as a patient advocate.
