As a Mammographer at MercyOne, you will Under limited supervision, performs general radiologic procedures. In doing so, assumes responsibility coordinating the activities for designated area(s) and procedures. The age of the patients served range from infants to geriatrics. Schedule: Varied between 5am-5:30pm; Repeatable 6-week schedule and every third weekend and Holiday. General Requirements: Must have basic knowledge of radiation safety standards. Must be certified in Basic Life Support. Must have minimum typing skills. Must be able to select proper technical factors for radiation equipment. Must have a high degree of independent decision-making ability. Must be able to work well with patients, visitors, and staff and possess good communication skills. Must have knowledge of sterile technique. Possess strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to effectively work with other hospital employees and guests in a helpful, courteous manner. Must be competent to provide care within assigned unit to the population described in the Unit's description of services. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Possess a current permit to practice diagnostic radiography for the Iowa Department of Public Health. Responsible for completing minimum requirements of continuing education as set forth by MQSA.
