Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: Under direct supervision, prepares medication orders, prescriptions and unit dosages. Assists in maintenance of inventory levels of supplies and equipment. Ensures pharmacist verification of all work performed prior to dispensing or distribution. Employment Type: PRN Shift: Varies according to department needs, will include some weekends and holidays. Typically 10hr shifts 6:45 am-5:15 pm or 12:30 pm-11pm What you will Do: Supports maintaining inventory of drugs and supplies. Maintains records as requested. Appropriately receives and documents shipments of pharmaceuticals and supplies, unpacks, prices and properly places them into inventory as requested. Maintains pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly manner. Develops understanding of the enterprise phone system including but not limited to: call transfer, parking, paging and message taking. Develops skills in effective communication with patients, general public, hospital personnel and fellow employees, in person and via telephone. Develops understanding of basic computer skills for area of responsibility. Develops understanding and familiarity with pharmacy equipment and software and follows policy and/or procedure associated use. Develops skills associated with the Automated medication dispensing system (Pyxis). Utilizes the system according to department expectations. Completely and efficiently fills and delivers medications, orders and supplies to and from patient care units and ancillary departments. Completes monthly inspections of area of responsibility on time. Minimum Qualifications: Requires High School diploma or GED. Basic math and typing skills required. Previous experience in pharmacy setting helpful, but not required. Medical and/or science background helpful, but not required.
