Employment Type: Part time Shift: Description: Position Purpose: The Plumber/HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs all types of plumbing, refrigeration equipment, Boiler, Chilled water, Generator, Medical gas, medical vacuum, Domestic water, Air Handling, Hydronic Heating and cooling, Steam Distribution, Pneumatic Control and associated component support systems. They must also have a working knowledge of Fire systems and various other building systems and know how to access support personnel as necessary. What you will do: Assist with plumbing issues including everything from faucets, toilets, piping, drains and troubleshooting issues through the building. Install and maintains all types of refrigeration equipment including coolers, air conditioners and other equipment requiring mechanical cooling. Performs preventive and emergency maintenance on domestic water and plumbing systems. Understands and applies the principles of electrical control systems commonly found in heating and cooling systems. Maintains compliance, documentation and performs data entry utilizing the departmental preventive maintenance for backflow prevention inspections and fire damper inspections. Hours/Schedule: PRN (as needed) Minimum Qualifications: Education: High school education diplomas or equivalent Masters or Journeyman's HVACR and Plumbing license preferred Experience: Three to four years previous experience working with a variety of Plumbing/HVACR systems, hospital experience highly desirable. Special Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC systems Proficient in interpreting drawings, details and specifications of refrigeration equipment. Working knowledge of codes (UBC and local) May be required to work after hours or weekends due to emergencies or in areas unavailable during regular hours. Valid driver's license required. Must be able to wear appropriate mask and be fit tested on an annual basis. Possess knowledge of current local and state plumbing codes.
