As a Sonographer at MercyOne, you will be Under limited supervision, performs Ultrasound exams including OB/GYN, abdominal, breast, small parts, and other related Ultrasound procedures as necessary on scheduled or emergent basis and maintains related records; provides general assistance to the radiologist in interpreting studies; provides technical instruction to students and hospital staff. Schedule: Days/Nights; FT; 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM two nights a week and 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM one day a week and help cover every 6th weekend General Requirements: Performs quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors, as well as a knowledge of anatomical structures pertinent to the patient population of infants to geriatrics. Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations. Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images. Educates patients of exams being performed and obtains consent to perform procedures when necessary. Education: Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or ARRT with one of the following. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS) If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire. ARDMS preferred but ARRT, or Cardiovascular Credentialing Internation (CCI) also accepted Maintains active registry status with ARDMS or ARRT (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment) Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
