Telemetry Tech - Part-time Day Shift

Employment Type: Part time Shift: 12 Hour Day Shift Description: Position Purpose: The Telemetry Technician provides ongoing observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms; prepares and maintains telemetry records and maintains a functioning telemetry system. What you will Do: Observes and interprets cardiac rhythms. Records ECG strips at designated intervals and as changes occur. Prints cardiac rhythm strips as needed. Notifies RN of all changes in rhythm and heart rate. Maintains telemetry records. Ensures proper functioning of telemetry system. Trouble shoots equipment problems. Updates Communication Board. Hours/Schedule: Part Time- Day Shift Minimum Qualifications: Education 1. Successful completion of formal Nurse Aid course/training verified through transcript or original program certificate of completion, required. OR 2. Currently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program. OR 3. Registered on State of Iowa Nurse Aide registry listing as “Active” or eligible, preferred. Experience: 1. Nursing Assistant experience preferred but will provide training. Special Skills and Competencies: 1. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. 2. Self-motivated and detail oriented individual. 3. Completes the following mandatory courses (check all that apply): **Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status. **Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years.
