The Role:

The inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing inventory, performing cycle counts to ensure accuracy, and keeping precise records of ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing discrepancies, and ensuring efficient material flow. The Inventory Control Specialist implements inventory control best practices to enhance operational efficiency and minimize the risks of stock shortages or overages.


What you’ll do:

  • Always follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Cycle count materials (e.g., raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, and non-conforming materials) based on the “ABC” grouping system which will be monitored by Cost Accounting & MP&L Manager.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory and bin location reports.
  • Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
  • Safely and efficiently operate various types of lift equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records in the inventory management system.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Assist in inventory audits and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or overages to management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory control processes.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Perform other relevant tasks or projects as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.


Who you are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, including cycle counting and ABC classification.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varying warehouse conditions.


Even better if you have:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification.
  • Experience conducting inventory audits and implementing process improvements.
  • Familiarity with lean inventory management principles and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation:

The estimated hourly rate range for this position is $23.92 to $26.44 per hour, though a candidate's hourly rate shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience. This position may additionally be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
