About the role


A Mortgage Loan Processor plays a crucial role in the mortgage loan process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete for loan approval and closing, AND that the borrower has an A experience. Key responsibilities of the Mortgage Loan Processor are:


DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT: Collects, orders, verifies, prepares, analyzes, required loan documentation from applicants and 3rd parties. Responds to inquiries from members, vendors and others involved in real estate transactions.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: Integral part of the sales team, providing exceptional customer service and support throughout the mortgage loan application process.

COMMUNICATION: Serves as the main point of contact and for title companies, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, borrowers and underwriters to facilitate timely loan closings.

COMPLIANCE: Ensure that all loan files comply with company lending policies, as well as state and federal lending guidelines.

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY: Input loan file documentation accurately into necessary software programs and maintain the mortgage loan file.

PROBLEM-SOLVING: Identify and address any deficiencies in mortgage loan applications and documentation.

TIME MANAGEMENT: Efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet contract timelines and closing dates.


These responsibilities require strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of various residential mortgage loans and regulatory requirements.


How does this role make an impact?


- Moves loans through the mortgage pipeline by preparing and processing required forms and documentation. - Provides all applicable disclosures for both fixed and variable-rate loans as required by federal regulations. - Orders title insurance, appraisals and necessary documentation to ensure loan conditions are met. - Prepares closing packages and coordinates loan closings. - Establishes, maintains and grows member relationships in order to continually provide credit union solutions that meet member needs.


Do you have what we're looking for?


  • Typically requires 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Effective Communicator: Has the tools and techniques to listen effectively and accurately interpret ideas, information, and uncover needs through use of appropriate communication skills.
  • Financial Skills: Strong ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical materials.
  • Previous lending experience.
  • Outgoing / Ability to maintain active relationships with referral sources and network with individuals and organizations.
  • Flexibility in work hours / ability to attend network events / meetings and appointments before or after normal work hours.
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) as a Mortgage Loan Officer or have the ability to register within 60 days.
  • Must be able to work independently and develop relationships with 3rd parties
  • Regularly works daytime and Saturday hours (on rotating basis) with occasional overtime. Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.




Base Pay Range:


$52,000-$71,500


The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.


Incentive Pay:

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
