IAB is seeking a driven and outgoing professional to join our exceptional team in a client-facing Business Development Specialist role.
As a Business Development (BD) Specialist, you will maintain and strengthen IAB's core values of client partnership and leading industry insight. The BD Specialist will engage directly with current and potential Fortune 500 client executives, collaborate with the COO and Senior Leadership Team on strategic initiatives, represent our firm at destination industry conferences, drive marketing efforts, and identify and cultivate new client relationships. You will also remain current on industry trends to anticipate and leverage new market opportunities to support strategic initiatives and drive revenue growth.
This is a hybrid position with a required three days (minimum) per week in-person at one of our offices in Moosic, PA, Milford, CT, Green Bay, WI, or Rolling Meadows, IL.
Role Responsibilities:
- Create new business opportunities by engaging directly with current and potential Fortune 500 clients, executing strategic prospects, and developing relationships from initial contact through service implementation.
- Collaborate with the COO on strategic initiatives; develop and maintain sales and marketing materials, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and meaningful to maximize sales and optimize partnerships.
- Conduct extensive prospecting and research in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry to identify new clients and engage appropriate contacts.
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales agreements to present to potential clients via webinars, in-person meetings, PowerPoint presentations, and email.
- Maintain the CRM system by adding new prospects and recording all sales-related contact activity.
- Present and sell our firm's value proposition and services to target clients.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from website activity.
- Develop strong relationships with peer networks, industry groups, and influencers.
- Prepare monthly business development reports, including pipeline, sales forecasts, activity, and follow-ups.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, noteworthy developments, and information or feedback from field activities.
- Represent the firm at destination industry conferences; organize and participate in marketing events such as conferences, trade shows, credit meetings, and webinars.
- Identify sales opportunities in new industries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the COO.
Preferred Requirements, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree; academic specialization in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field is preferred. Various experience levels accepted, including entry-level and early career candidates.
- Preferred candidates may have experience or demonstrated interest in sales, sales support, and client relations. Experience in service-related sales may be considered in place of undergraduate degree. However, industry-specific experience is not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to persuade and influence others.
- Strong ability to collaborate with executive leadership within IAB and with clients.
- Exceptional work ethic, organization skills, and professional diligence.
- Creative thinking, initiative, and the ability to constructively provide market feedback to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Basic experience with WordPress or HTML is encouraged.
- Social media marketing experience and exposure to various graphic design programs are encouraged.
- A self-motivated individual passionate about achieving and exceeding business development goals.
- Occasional travel required for conferences, prospective client meetings, and between IAB offices.
