Position Summary
As a member of the Culinary Kitchen Staff at Iacofano’s, you will play a critical role in preparing and executing our menu offerings—both for our catering clients and on-site dining—while adhering to the highest standards of food safety, quality, and presentation. You will collaborate with fellow culinary team members to maintain a smooth kitchen operation, ensuring that all dishes meet our signature standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Cooking
- Assist in the preparation of menu items, following standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to Iacofano’s quality and presentation requirements.
2. Quality Control & Presentation
- Consistently monitor food quality, taste, and appearance before service.
- Adjust seasoning, plating, and presentation to maintain Iacofano’s high standards.
3. Safety & Sanitation
- Comply with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Practice safe food handling, proper storage, and cleaning procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, equipment, and utensils.
4. Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate any shortages to the Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
- Assist with proper receiving, labeling, and rotation of stock (FIFO method).
5. Team Collaboration
- Work closely with fellow kitchen staff, servers, and managers to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate effectively about order statuses, special requests, and potential delays.
6. Catering Support
- Assist with meal assembly, packing, and on-site catering setups when needed.
- Help maintain event timelines and coordinate with the catering team for smooth operations.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Suggest menu enhancements or process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Stay informed about current culinary trends and techniques to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Requirements
Experience: 1 years of kitchen or culinary experience preferred (line cook, prep cook, catering, etc.).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Culinary school or relevant certification is a plus).
Certifications: Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Skills & Abilities:
- Basic knife skills and knowledge of cooking methods (sautéing, roasting, grilling, etc.).
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
