The Security Support Specialist serves in the implementation and administration of internal facility security functions, including maintaining customer security requirements.
This role analyzes security documents and manuals as the company’s designated security specialist and maintains appropriate levels of controls.
This position will initiate, review, maintain, and process clearances / escort and prepare visit request, debriefing / terminations of such access.
Essential Job Functions : (not limited to duties as described - performs related duties as requested)
- Implements federal security regulations that apply to facility operations.
- Briefs incoming staff on security processes and debriefs outgoing staff.
- Administrative duties for processing employees for a clearance.
- Conducts security awareness training sessions with new staff.
- Maintains records for New and Periodic investigations with customer liaisons and other technical professionals.
- Knowledge of SWFT and fingerprinting process
- Knowledge of reviewing SF86 for accuracy according to the rules of the obtaining a Secret clearance
- Use DISS, NBIS, e-QIP, and other security software in the performance of assigned duties.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years recent security management experience managing a contract of similar size (200 personnel) scope (multiple locations) and complexity.
- Knowledge of Defense Information System for Security (DISS), including ability to create personnel clearances via processing SF86 and CSR's and submission of adverse action reports.
Knowledge and Skills :
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, agency requirements applicable to job duties.
- Effective communication and administrative skills.
Certifications :
FSO Non-Possessing certification within 90 days of employment
Travel : Up to 20%
Security Clearance : Active SECRET clearance.
