POSITION SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, inspects sewer and water lines; overhead and underground electrical systems; pipe and appurtenance installation; and/or site rehabilitation projects, including concrete, asphalt, and landscaping work completed by contractors. Serves as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and customers to ensure work meets specifications, City codes, and Florida regulations. Requires knowledge of construction management principles, standards, and techniques used in utility systems. The role involves interpreting, analyzing, and adapting methods, techniques, and procedures to specific problems, solving complex issues, and recommending solutions. Regular contact with other work groups, contractors, and customers is required.

- Assigns, monitors, and reviews the work of others.
- Coordinates contractor construction work with utility infrastructure systems.
- Performs testing of utility systems installed by contractors.
- Conducts onsite quality control inspections of utility systems, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, regulations, and codes.
- Performs field engineering, surveying, and construction layout.
- Resolves field and construction-related problems.
- Operates field engineering equipment and reviews project invoices.
- Verifies water and sewer fee payments before providing inspection services.
- Manages job updates, reschedules inspections, and maintains a daily log of all inspected projects.
- Composes correspondence and reports.
- May conduct safety meetings, ensuring adherence to safety rules.
- Operates office equipment and uses required software.
OPEN REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- .Minimum of six (6) years of utility construction/inspection experience (preferably in Electric, Water, or Wastewater)
