Our skilled nursing facility is seeking an experienced full-time Director of Nursing (DON).
This supervisory position involves delegation, responsibility and accountability. The Director of Nursing DON will direct the overall operation of the nursing department in accordance with current nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the facility to assure that the highest degree of resident care is always maintained.
Responsibilities
- Direct overall operation of the nursing department
- Assist in creating and executing policies and procedures
- Ensures proper nursing documentation and conducts regular chart audits
- Participates in discharge planning, development and implementation of care plans, and resident assessments
- Establish rapport with other departments to ensure all services and activities are properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents
Qualifications and Skills
- RN License
- Experience in a supervisory capacity
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) / long-term care facility experience required
- Highly organized and driven
- Problem solving focused
