What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor, Underwriting Support (Inland Marine and Commercial Property) position at IAT Insurance Group?
IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for a Supervisor, Underwriting Support to work out of our Alpharetta, GA, office location to provide day-to-day oversite for Account Managers within the Inland Marine and Commercial Property Underwriting Support unit.
Underwriting Support consists of a team of production-oriented, customer-centric, problem-solving, detail-driven Account Managers. The ideal candidate will have experience leading, coaching, and developing production teams of five or more. Please note, IAT works on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Wednesday with the option of working remotely Thursday and Friday.

Provides leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
- Oversees training and quality product output of account management staff.
- Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelors’ degree and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
- The equivalent is defined as 9 years of relevant insurance experience.
- Substantial understanding and knowledge of the Inland Marine and/or Commercial Property insurance products.
- Vast knowledge of Underwriting Support processes and procedures.
- Solid technical background with hands on experience in rating and policy issuance platforms, as well as system testing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work throughout the organization at different levels.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
- To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.

Prefer 5 years of experience as an Account Manager or Assistant Underwriter supporting Inland Marine and/or Commercial Property
- Prefer 3 years of coaching, leading and/or supervisory experience.
