Underwriting Support Account Manager (Inland Marine)

Account Managers have a solid understanding of the underwriting process and are responsible for delivering daily customer service and support to underwriters. They serve as the link between the organization and agents, collaborating closely to ensure all requirements are fulfilled and compliant to allow policy issuance. The ideal candidate should possess strong computer skills, organizational abilities, and professional written and verbal communication skills to accurately deliver policies.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Underwriting/Business partners to ensure new business/renewal quotes, issuance, and subsequent transactions are delivered as expected.
• Enters schedules into proprietary rating systems.
• Prepares account service-related documents such as proposals and other client communications and correspondence.
• Assists in renewal process, reviewing for accuracy and making requested renewal changes.
• Follows up with agencies on policy subjectivities and other missing Underwriting information.
• Maintains account files in accordance with established procedures.
• Retrieves and reviews 3rd party rating and underwriting reports as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

Must have:

• 4 years of relevant insurance or business experience.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and problem-solving techniques.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills used for interaction with all levels of associates and/or external sources in a variety of settings.
• Strong keyboarding and PC skills; Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc).
• Must be detail and action oriented in a fast- paced and deadline driven environment.
• Self-motivated, ability to organize, set and maintain priorities.
• To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require, now or in the future, VISA sponsorship for employment purposes.
  
  
  

Preferred to have:

• Associate degree.
• Underwriting support experience.
• Working knowledge of ISO and Commercial Lines Manual.

This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the hourly rate for this position in those locations. Actual hourly rates will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
