What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Trainer position at IBA Fitness Management?
The Personal Trainer is responsible for providing customized fitness programs that include education and guidance on proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and other programs to help the members achieve their fitness goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct service appointments with members, which includes body fat analysis, nutritional counseling (in accordance with state and federal law), proper use of fitness equipment, proper form of exercises, etc.
- Conduct new client set ups and 15-minute check-ins.
- Consult with members to determine and define needs and problem areas.
- Conduct study or survey on members’ needs or problems to formulate appropriate solutions to achieve desired fitness goals.
- Advise members on methods of solving needs or problems and recommend specific solutions.
- Determine members’ current physical status based on personal health and physical history.
- Develop scripted workout for members to perform, consistent with the members personal fitness level and exercise goals.
- This should be done one time each month for each client,
- This should occur during the first or last several minutes of their session,
- Review exercises with the members and remind them that if they have questions to ask a training director or refer to our exercise log on site.
- Educate and assist members on exercise equipment, physical fitness, and realistic physical expectations.
- Continually monitor and assist clients during their sessions to ensure proper form is used when performing exercises.
- Practice and teach the company Culture/Values
- Utilize the company software Scheduling system.
- Responsible for logging sessions utilizing company software.
- This position may travel between locations, depending on client and/or business needs and other factors.
- Provide a schedule in company software ensuring availability to train clients for a minimum of 10 hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience in designing and implementing fitness regimens.
- Must be able to adjust and operate gym equipment.

- Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity, and work ethic.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
Required Experience, Education and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree in a field related to health and fitness
- Current Personal Training certification and CPR/AED certification.
Physical Demands
- Position duties require daily walking, running, sitting, lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting and racking weights of at least 75lbs, demonstrating exercises to clients and “spotting” clients to assure safety.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business related documents such as financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
