Position Summary: The Government Affairs Representative will serve as the primary liaison between IBE Digital and elected officials, advocating for the company’s interests across municipalities, special districts, and educational districts. This role involves building strong relationships with elected officials and staff, leading community engagement efforts, and identifying public sector opportunities that align with IBE Digital’s mission. The Government Affairs Representative will report directly to the Vice President and play a key role in expanding IBE Digital’s presence in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Government & Stakeholder Relations:
Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, community leaders, and regulatory bodies at the local and regional levels.
Represent IBE Digital at city council meetings, board hearings, and public forums to advocate for policies that align with business objectives.
Cultivate relationships with elected officials, their staff, nonprofit leaders, and key stakeholders to build trust and foster collaboration.
2. Legislative & Policy Monitoring:
Track and analyze proposed legislation, policies, and government initiatives that may impact IBE Digital’s operations and customers.
Provide leadership with timely updates on relevant legislative developments, offering insights on risks and opportunities. Identify and communicate funding opportunities, public-sector contracts, or grants that align with company objectives.
3. Advocacy & Strategic Communication:
Develop and execute advocacy strategies to influence local government policies and initiatives in line with IBE Digital’s goals.
4. Business Development in the Public Sector:
Collaborate with internal teams to identify and pursue new opportunities within municipalities, school districts, and nonprofits.
Work with the business development team to respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and secure public-sector contracts.
Support sales efforts by leveraging government relationships to drive revenue growth.
5. Event Coordination & Community Engagement:
Attend industry events, government association meetings, and fundraisers to maintain visibility and expand networks.
Manage participation in conferences, sponsorships, and community initiatives that align with IBE Digital’s values.
Organize private dinners and meetings with government partners to strengthen relationships and explore partnership opportunities.
6. Internal Collaboration & Reporting:
Collaborate with business development, marketing, and operations teams to align advocacy efforts with business goals.
Provide regular reports to executive leadership on government relations activities and public-sector developments.
7. Travel:
Travel throughout Los Angeles and Orange County to meet with government officials, attend events, and engage with partners. Some overnight travel may be required for conferences or business purposes.
Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in government relations, public affairs, political campaigns, or public policy within the Los Angeles area.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong relationship-building, networking, and interpersonal skills
Deep understanding of local government processes, legislative frameworks, and political dynamics
Excellent communication, presentation, and public speaking abilities
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Travel: Must be willing to travel extensively within Los Angeles and Orange County.
