The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from : $129,000 - $161,000.
The Project Director is responsible for multiple utility scale renewable construction projects during the transition from the Development Team through the achievement of Commercial Operation and handover to Operations, which include the responsibility of safely managing all project activities.

The Project Director will manage assigned projects with a project team consisting of both Avangrid Project team members and seconded staff, including but not limited to Project Manager, Contract Manager, Engineers, Planner, Site / Construction Manager. By introducing good management practices in line with the guidelines of the PMBOK and Avangrid's internal procedures.
Project Director is ultimately responsible for the success of the project and ensuring it meets company goals. The Project Director should monitor all aspects of the assigned projects with an understanding and view to critical paths, risks, mitigation plans, and project recovery. The Project Director must evaluate and approve all contractual changes together with the Contract Managers and the Avangrid Senior management, prepare reports for Senior management, and facilitate communication between the Project and Senior Management.
In addition to managing assigned projects, the Project Director will provide coaching and mentoring to project managers and guide them in the right direction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage project budgets between $100M to $700M, providing accurate cost reports and explanations about actual costs and forecasts to the company Senior management team.
- Negotiate and manage engineering, procurement, and construction ("EPC") activities.
- Lead a team of professionals who provide management / technical expertise and project support through design, construction, commissioning, and operations to ensure that project milestones are met safely, with high quality, on schedule, and within budget on multiple wind and thermal energy projects.
- Provide periodic updates to the company Senior management group on project activities, progress, and issues.
- Develop a safety and quality awareness culture, emphasized at the personal workplace, within project designs and throughout construction and operation.
- Assist with technical due diligence in conjunction with other departments.
- Forecast the Company's capital budget spending on assigned projects effectively.
- Support plant operations, including plant and process improvements, equipment acquisition, plant breakdown analysis, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure process feedback mechanisms are implemented and utilized for identifying process efficiencies and improvements, including process and functional quality audits, focusing on Company strategic initiatives.
- Support onboarding and provide expert advice, as requested by new project managers.
