We are looking for a motivated and skilled Utility Worker I worker to join our team. This role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our facilities.
Position Overview :
Oversees third party metering or directly reads electric and gas meters and records usage data. Oversees stocks of metering equipment and meter testing equipment, including smart meters. Oversees or installs, removes, field tests and keeps customer electric and / or gas meters in accordance with regulatory standards, organization's guidelines and fraud prevention codes. May interact with customers by answering questions or directing them to customer service or customer operations. In some cases may deliver the bill to consumer units.
Core Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively perform gas and electric tasks including but not limited to turn-on, turn-off, obtaining meter reads, and meter exchanges.
- Safely and effectively work field collections including in-person customer collections, notice delivery, disconnect for non-payment, and reconnect after disconnection.
- Report hazardous conditions, meter tampering, and meter conditions.
- Timely completion of assignments.
- Assist in ensuring data integrity and customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety policies and practices.
- Maintain current meter location records and maps.
- Proper care and maintenance of all assigned company equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
