Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services. Our Medical Records Department protects and preserves our patients’ confidential medical records.
ICCHC is currently seeking a full time Health Information Manager for its New Iberia, Louisiana location.
GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Health Information Manager is the custodian of the medical record. Incumbent supervises all responsibilities for the department including the completion, storage and retrieval of the medical record. Incumbent provides services to the Medical/Dental Staff, clinical departments and patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION:
The Health Information Manager shall possess a degree in Medical Record Science. AHIMA registration and a qualified Registered Records Administrator (RRA) preferred. In lieu of an RRA, the MR Manager can also be an Accredited Records Technician (ART) who has successfully achieved AHIMA certification.
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
The Health Information Manager should have at least one year experience in supervision of a Medical Records Department. He or she should be proficient in use of Personal Computer and various software applications.
- JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Candidate should possess an extensive knowledge of medical records procedures, medical terminology, CPT and I-CD9 coding, human anatomy & physiology and terminal digit filing system.
