IMC is currently hiring a Central Sterile Tech., who within
the OR managerial structure, the Central Sterile Instrument Technician is
responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of
instruments and supplies for the facility.
Must be conscientious with regard to procedures and capable of working
under pressure and interacting professionally with other departments within the
hospital.
EDUCATION
High School Graduate, Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION
Eligible for certification in Surgical Technology or Central Sterile Processing
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Previous OR or Central Sterile experience preferred, but not required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and nomenclature of items and equipment used by the department. Knowledgeable with cleaning and sterilization procedures and techniques. Complete knowledge of surgical procedures and the instrumentation used for them. Knowledge of infection control and OSHA guidelines. Able to use independent judgement in effectively recommending firing, hiring or disciplining of employees under his/her direction.
