IMC is currently hiring
a ER Tech , who
is responsible for applying the nursing process (assessment, planning,
intervention and evaluation) in caring for patients. Effectively interacting with patient,
significant others, and other heath team members. Demonstrating knowledge and skills necessary
to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related
criteria for the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric population. The ER Tech also assists the ER staff with entering
patient charges in the computer and maintaining clean ER rooms.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma
TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
Previous experience preferred, but not required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
CPR Basic knowledge of nursing process/principals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies patient and family education
needs and in collaboration with other disciplines initiatesâ education needs
according to the age of the patient.
Participates in departmental and
hospital improvement plan.
Functions as a positive role model for
peers and promotes a professional image of Iberia Medical
Center . Maintains confidentiality, security, and
integrity of patient and organizational data.
Consistently lives by Iberia Medical
Center âs Standards of
Performance.
Adheres to the Patient Safety Goals.
Safely transports and notifies staff of
inpatient admits brought to assigned rooms.
Correctly enters all patients in the ER
logbook.
Collects urine, stool, sputum specimens
and transports to lab.
Restocks/cleans ER rooms.
Assists staff with computer order entry.
Assists patients with eating, mobility,
dressing, and toileting.
Assists staff with obtaining and
recording vital signs.
Computer entry of patient charges
Demonstrates respect for patients and
families.
Maintains and protects confidentiality
regarding all aspects of patient care.
