Iberostar BDMs are on the frontlines of promoting and positioning IBEROSTAR as the leading hotel chain in the US market. The main mission of this strategic role is to be responsible for increasing revenue from the US market and helping the company reach its budgeted goals for our hotels worldwide. This key position must form strong relationships with tour operators’ sales departments, support co-op plans, enhance existing business opportunities and develop new relationships with Travel Agencies/Associations and Consortias.
In this critical role, BDMs help promote and achieve sales targets for regional agency sales through preferred travel partners and direct agency sales through Iberostar’s agent direct platform. In addition to this, BDMs are responsible for increasing participation in the “Star Agents” travel agency loyalty program.
Location: Business Development Manager will be home based (Downstate NY, NJ or CT).
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Help achieve and exceed the budgeted targets of our hotels.
- Focus sales on our destinations in the Americas and Worldwide.
- Secure new business opportunities and increase sales from the US market to IBEROSTAR hotels worldwide.
- Develop and implement a well-defined and focused plan with specific activities for assigned areas of the US.
- Coordinate and attend specific industry and client events, as well as trade shows and personalized sales calls.
- Support all IBEROSTAR sales activities and promotions.
- Promote and develop the IBEROSTAR Pro and Star Agents programs with travel agencies.
- Develop and execute sales and promotion programs with travel partners and clients, aimed at increasing market awareness in support of our marketing initiatives.
- Generate group leads for leisure groups such as weddings, incentive, family, social gathering and regional associations.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the travel agencies and consortias in the US, either through tour operators or directly, to support the activities of any member of the sales team when required.
- Remain informed about all relevant information of the hotels, the latest product news, priority of sales, relevant changes in the market, changes of strategies and other market intelligence.
- Maintain strong working relationships with all other BDMs, ensuring prompt, informative replies to inquiries, quality lead generation, and to provide thorough details on qualified accounts.

We are seeking an energetic, passionate individual that is looking to grow his/her work experience in the Hotel/Hospitality industry. This entry-level, outside Business Development Manager position is perfect for someone looking to join the sales team of one of the world’s great hotel brands.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Strong written and oral communication skills required
- High level of proficiency with email,G-Suite, and social media platforms.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends, and to travel extensively
- Good analytical skills
EXPERIENCE:
- Sales: 2 years (preferred)
- Experience and knowledge of general marketing principles and concepts within the hospitality environment (preferred)
- CRM experience required. Salesforce (preferred)
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
LANGUAGES:
- English & Spanish native / Bilingüal or Full professional competence.
ABILITY TO TRAVEL: the selected person for this position will be required to visit and become familiar with our hotels in Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
