Compensation : $14.82 / hr DOE Department : Rosedale Branch Location : Rosedale Branch (Rosedale, LA) FLSA Status : Non-Exempt, 20 hours per week Position Reports To : Branch Manager Position Supervises : None
General Information
This position provides front-line service to all patrons and must be prepared for the variety of needs encountered during a workday. This position performs a variety of routine library tasks including circulation transactions, assisting patrons, and other related duties. The position may be scheduled to work any hours that the library is open, including evenings and weekends. The position may include assigned work duties before or after hours for special events and programs both inside and outside the library.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Assumes responsibility for collection related duties
- Discharges and sorts returned materials.
- Efficiently and accurately shelves materials as needed
- Empties book drop
- Reads assigned shelves and helps maintain physical appearance and orderliness of materials on shelves
- Receives and processes in-transit items for holds and shelving.
Assumes responsibility for effective circulation services
Assumes responsibility for effective information services
Assumes responsibility for engaging in learning and development activities
Assumes responsibility for maintaining a professional work environment and effective communication with library staff and patrons
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
