Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is located in Radford, VA and requires 5 days onsite. This position is for a Network Engineer focused on the implementation and sustainment of switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and network management tools. The focus is a datacenter environment supporting two separate DoD networks. Responsibilities include network management / analysis / troubleshooting, developing and maintaining local operating procedures and policies, developing and maintaining network automation and scripts, and monitoring the ongoing operation of the network.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
This position requires a Secret Security clearance or higher (US Citizenship is required)
- CompTIA Security or other IAT II Baseline equivalent
- Computing Environment (CE) Certification Professional Level or higher (i.e., Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCNP Datacenter, Juniper, Palo Alto, F5 etc.)
- 5 years of Network Engineering
- 5 years of configuring and maintaining switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and network management tools
- Experience with network management, analysis and troubleshooting tools
- Experience with Data Center Management
- Ability to train junior team members
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience in implementing and maintaining security management strategies (DISA STIGs experience preferred but not required)
- Experience with development of project documentation to include standard operating procedures, project plans, and network diagrams
- Strong networking background
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Strong documentation skills
