Your Role And Responsibilities
Highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect to support the setup, maintenance, and optimization of Secure (TS) Azure environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency in cloud architecture and operations, particularly in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), IaaS, and SaaS platforms, alongside a solid understanding of cost optimization strategies and infrastructure management. The individual must possess the ability to provide strategic guidance on cloud security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST) and integrate best practices for microservices, containers, and infrastructure as code (IaC).
Collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and other government agencies to ensure seamless coordination and efficient delivery of cloud solutions. Designing and documenting secure architectures, developing technical roadmaps, and implementing automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Bicep templates. Azure Monitoring and Cost Management: Utilize Azure Monitor, Cost Management tools, and Log Analytics to track performance, optimize costs, and ensure compliance with organizational budgets and policies. Azure DevOps: Lead CI/CD pipeline development, infrastructure automation, and integration with DevSecOps methodologies to streamline deployments.Additionally, expertise in Kubernetes environments (self-managed or managed services like AKS) is critical for ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. The role involves mentoring junior staff, driving a culture of collaboration and accountability, and fostering Agile/Scrum methodologies to enhance project outcomes. - Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): Design, deploy, and manage virtual desktop environments for secure remote access.
- Azure Networking: Configure and optimize Virtual Networks (VNets), load balancers, and firewalls for secure and scalable connectivity.
- Azure Storage Solutions: Manage scalable storage solutions, including Azure Blob Storage and Data Lake, ensuring data durability and cost-efficiency.
- Azure Security Services: Implement and configure Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender, and Key Vault for enhanced security.
- Azure Identity Management: Leverage Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for user authentication and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Maintain a U.S. Citizenship status and TS/SCI clearance, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
- Proven track record in government or federal environments, IC environments preferably, demonstrating the ability to deliver compliant, cost-effective solutions while possessing certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
