Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Billing Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical and dental coding, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as the ability to work effectively within a medical and dental office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assign accurate medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, CPT, codes.
- Ensure all coding is compliant with State/federal regulations and insurance guidelines.
- Prepare and submit medical and dental claims to HHSC of different programs
- Audit and review reports of patient’s list from all medical and dental clinics and their billing codes
- Follow up on claims, submit supplemental bill
- Review medical and dental record for appropriate codes, and reporting.
- Verify patients are appropriately reported in programs
- Contact providers and update codes as necessary
- Work with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate billing.
- Keep close contact with providers and scribers
- Ensure eligibility documents are accurate, and documents are screened in EHR
- Conduct eligibility screening of the patients for funded programs
- Compiling funding, expenditure, unduplicated patients report of funded program
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification such as CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, medical and terminology.
- Proficiency in medical and dental billing software and EHR/EMR systems.
- Excellent computer skills, Word, Excel, Power point, Access
- Spanish Bilingual is preferred
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Understanding insurance guidelines, including Medicare and Medicaid.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
