What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at IBP of Panhandle?
We are seeking a hardworking and reliable Construction Laborer to join our team!
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing debris and setting up materials.
- Load and unload construction materials and distribute them to appropriate locations.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth for construction purposes.
- Follow safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, as required.
- Perform general maintenance of construction equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
- Knowledge of basic construction techniques and tools is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing tasks.
- Compliance with workplace safety guidelines and use of protective equipment.
- A valid driver’s license may be required, depending on the job site location.
Physical demands:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (50 lbs) regularly.
- Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Ability to work in noisy and dusty environments.
