What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geospatial Analyst position at IBR (Imagine Believe Realize)?
The Geospatial Analyst must be able to meet the key criteria below:
Location: Must be able to be onsite Monday – Friday in Melbourne, FL for project execution
Years’ Experience: 1 years GIS professional experience
Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience
Security Clearance: IBR is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain up to a Top-Secret security clearance.
- NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.
Employment Type: Exempt
Key Skills:
- Experience manipulating digital images and generating Controlled Image Base (CIB) products
- Working knowledge of industry-standard geospatial software tools preferred (e.g., SOCET Set, SOCET GXP, ERDAS IMAGINE, Harris ENVI, etc).
- Direct experience with AMSD and image processing is preferred
- DoD experience preferred.
Position Overview
Do you want to help IBR build a portfolio of next-generation data collection systems? As a Geospatial Analyst at IBR you will work in a production environment responsible for performing image processing tasks to meet customer expectations and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Process digital satellite/image data to generate Adjusted Mapping Support Data (AMSD) files that meet customer requirements
- Understand and utilize established image production processes
- Exercise good judgement regarding data quality and project criteria and to be to recognize and identify image anomalies associated with digital imagery
- Deliver a high volume of products to meet customer requirements on a monthly basis
- Follow written and verbal directions, and work in a close team environment
- Perform related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must either current possess or be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. This requires United States Citizenship
- GIS experience required
- Experience manipulating digital images
- Must have basic understanding of DMS and decimal coordinate systems
- Working knowledge of industry-standard geospatial software tools preferred (e.g., SOCET Set, SOCET GXP, ERDAS IMAGINE, Harris ENVI, etc).
- Experience with remotely sensed data and image processing
- Knowledge of triangulation and ground control point concepts is a plus
- Experience with government satellite imagery and stereo imagery is a plus
- Computer competency in Windows environment. Familiarity with Linux or UNIX operating systems also helpful.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While this position primarily involves sedentary work in an office environment and/or home-office environment, there are some physical demands associated with the role, including:
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of equipment or materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.
- Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.
- Additionally, flexible work arrangements may be available based on business needs.
- Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of clients in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
