NOTE: United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Position Overview
Do you want to help design and build a next-generation Naval Applications? As a Human Centered Design Engineer at IBR, you will support the Agile based engineering of a robust, secure, and scalable enterprise applications. This position will work closely with the development teams to design and implement improved user experiences for Sailors and Marines.
Responsibilities
- Wireframing & Prototyping – Create mid-to-high fidelity mockups that reflect thoughtful interaction design and flow.
- Be able to rapidly prototype application solution design, look, feel and aesthetics
- Visual Design – Apply branding, layout, and aesthetic principles to produce clean, professional interfaces.
- Execute all visual design stages from concept to pre-production hand-off to developers.
- User Research & Synthesis – Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
- Prepare documentation of all UIs developed
- Conduct user research and analyze user feedback against design requirements to reflect within design work.
- Stakeholder Communication – Present and explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and development to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction, visuals, experience, and team performance
- Collaborative Design – Work alongside developers, analysts, and users in cross-functional teams.
- Work with development teams across multiple engagements to design efficient and comprehensible user interfaces given client requirements
- Feedback Integration – Rapidly iterate on designs based on team, user, and stakeholder feedback.
- Documentation – Maintain up-to-date design specs and explain usage intent to developers.
- Prioritization – Balance multiple design tasks, track dependencies, and deliver on sprint deadlines.
- Process Improvement – Recommend and lead improvements to design processes, tools, or standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic/Web Design, Human Factors, Human-Centered Design, User Experience, web design/development, or IT related discipline.
- 4 years professional experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Must Have Knowledge/Skills:
- Human-Centered Design (HCD) Principles – In-depth understanding of user needs, journey mapping, usability, accessibility, and iterative design processes.
- Experience with UI/X design, Human Factors, Human-Centered Design best practices and methodologies
- Figma – High proficiency for wireframing, prototyping, collaboration, and developer handoff.
- UX/UI Design Theory – Knowledge of visual hierarchy, accessibility standards (WCAG), responsive/mobile-first design principles, and other user-centered design principles
- Design Documentation & Version Control – Skilled in annotating designs, maintaining revision history, and organizing reusable assets.
- Basic Front-End Awareness – Foundational knowledge of HTML/CSS and how designs translate into code (without being expected to code).
- Agile & Iterative Workflows – Understands how HCD fits into Agile ceremonies, sprints, backlog grooming, and facilitate working sessions.

- Salesforce Lightning Design System (SLDS) – Proficient in SLDS design patterns, constraints, and implementation implications.
- Salesforce Ecosystem Basics – Familiarity with page layouts, Lightning components, and design implications of Salesforce development.

- Work may need to be performed in a fast-paced environment requiring quick thinking and rapid judgements.
