The Technical Volume Proposals Specialist for Satellite Systems is responsible for developing and managing the technical content of proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) related to satellite communications, space systems, or satellite-based services. This role involves collaborating with engineering teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to present detailed, accurate, and compelling technical solutions, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and industry standards.

- Lead the development and writing of technical volumes for satellite-related proposals, including satellite design, payload systems, ground support, and communications solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical teams to gather relevant information and ensure technical solutions are well-documented and aligned with customer needs.
- Create technical narratives, system architectures, diagrams, and performance specifications that clearly articulate the technical approach and system capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all RFP technical requirements, including standards for satellite systems, mission objectives, and performance criteria.
- Participate in reviews and revisions of technical content to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity before proposal submission.
- Experience in satellite systems, space technology, or related fields.
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience in developing satellite or aerospace-related proposals.
- Knowledge of satellite design, communications, payload integration, and related technologies.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality technical content under tight deadlines.

- Technical Expertise:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for satellite systems and subsystems, providing guidance on architecture, design, and performance optimization.
- Develop and validate system-level requirements and specifications.
- System Design & Integration:
- Design, analyze, and integrate satellite systems, including payloads, power systems, communications, and thermal controls.
- Oversee the integration of hardware and software to ensure system functionality and performance.
- Program Support:
- Provide support throughout the satellite development lifecycle, including conceptual design, detailed design, testing, launch, and on-orbit operations.
- Conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and recommend solutions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of components and subsystems.
- Testing and Validation:
- Develop and execute test plans for satellite systems, including environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC) and functional validation.
- Analyze test data and resolve any issues affecting system performance.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, reports, and documentation to stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred).
- 8 Years of experience in satellite systems engineering or related fields.
- Proven track record in designing, developing, and deploying satellite systems.
- Experience with NOAA and DoD is desirable
- Experience with commercial Satellite is desirable
- Expertise in satellite subsystems, including propulsion, power, communications, payloads, and thermal systems.
- Strong understanding of satellite orbits, mission planning, and ground control systems.
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools and software (e.g., DOORS, STK, MATLAB/Simulink, CAD software).
- Experience with space standards (e.g., CCSDS, MIL-STD, ECSS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Effective collaboration and leadership in multidisciplinary teams.
