What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver/Warehouse position at ibt?
PURPOSE
Support IBT customers with sales, application, and pricing and proposal assistance while developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with IBT vendors who are essential to meet branch and customer needs, and are consistent with current marketing plans and corporate goals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton pickup truck and make deliveries and interact with the receiving personnel of our industrial customers (CDL is not required, however an active Driver's License is required).
Receive daily, truck, UPS, FEDEX freight and print pick tickets.
Assist in maintaining good vendor relations at the branch location level.
Maintain open, productive communication between the Store Manager and other personnel at the branch.
Promote a positive attitude to IBT co-workers, branches, vendors and customers, while promoting all of IBT’s products and services.
Keep the warehouse and delivery truck clean and maintained.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
Ability to understand technical products and explain them to others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to customer questions and information.
Ability to learn through both written word and online training.
Strong ability to use computers and technology to improve efficiency and effectively communicate information, including, but not limited to the Epicor P-21 (preferred), Google and Microsoft Suites.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sight, hearing, speech. Frequent lateral mobility; frequent entry and exit from vehicles; use of both hands and arms; occasionally lift weights over 50 pounds; mentally able to plan and analyze verbal input; solve problems; make decisions and take appropriate action under moderate stress.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED WORK HOURS
This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however hours may vary by location. There may be times where there is an expectation to work extended hours as dictated by business needs. This position requires minimal travel for training or special projects.
