- Leadership & People Development
- Build and sustain a high-performing team of warehouse supervisors and associates, including individuals at various levels of experience.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Develop and maintain a structured onboarding and training program—including creating clear work instructions, SOPs, and performance standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and adaptability.
- Operational Oversight & Efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps and proactively implementing solutions that enhance operational performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Oversee continuous cycle counts and physical counts to maintain accurate inventory.
- Oversee the staging of materials for production, fabrication, and assembly, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs, regularly reviewing performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Process Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain clear process documentation, including work instructions and SOPs.
- Lead effective team training sessions, with a patient and supportive approach tailored to learners’ experience levels.
- Promote adherence to standardized procedures and foster accountability through follow-up and coaching.
- Technology & Systems
- Leverage warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and digital tools to streamline processes and improve visibility.
- Serve as a key partner in implementing new technologies or upgrades to existing systems.
- Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between the warehouse and other departments across the company to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution.
- Manage escalations effectively—including situations involving frustrated or upset internal customers—by applying empathy, professionalism, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure that warehouse operations meet all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide and maintain appropriate equipment and storage configurations to promote a safe and productive work environment.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Support company-wide initiatives and contribute to cross-functional improvement efforts as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing warehouse operations, with direct leadership over a team.
- Experience managing cycle counts and year-end physical inventory counts.
- Demonstrated success in implementing continuous improvement practices (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
- Experience creating detailed process documentation and conducting effective team training.
- Technologically savvy—comfortable navigating WMS platforms, reporting tools, and productivity software.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and manage through influence.
- Experience leading through change, particularly in environments with a mix of tenured and new team members.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to maintain composure and resolve issues in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or equivalent experience preferred.
