Join us and be part of a team that’s transforming the finance industry and empowering businesses to thrive!Position Description : We are looking for a Commercial Counsel who will primarily focus on reviewing, drafting, negotiating, executing, and managing various services, technology, marketing, and other commercial agreements. This role is a highly visible in-house legal position that reports directly to the company’s Head of Legal. The ideal candidate is strategic, business-oriented, personable, and enthusiastic, and can properly balance legal considerations with business needs in a very fast-paced environment. The Commercial Counsel will work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, identify and propose solutions, and have an enthusiastic “I got it” mindset to tackle any company issue that confronts them and will perform the following day-to-day functions : Major Areas of Responsibility : Draft, review, revise, and negotiate servicing, marketing, subscription / technology, non-disclosure, and various commercial agreements as well as strategic partnerships.Monitor and facilitate compliance with relevant data privacy laws, state and federal financial regulations, and commercial lending licensing requirements.Work closely with sales, compliance, finance, and product teams in connection with commercial transactions and contracts.Assist with the development and implementation of improved legal operations for the efficient management and servicing of in-house client requests and needs.Properly lead and manage other team members to ensure efficient and effective handling of department responsibilities.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : 4 years’ experience as an attorney in a law firm corporate practice group or as in-house counsel in a fast-paced organization, handling all forms of contracting requirements for a company in a highly regulated industry.Quick study with self-initiative and a self-starter mindset.Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.Natural interpersonal skills and can collaborate with all colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the company, including executives.Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with internal and external stakeholders, serving as a respected ambassador of the legal department and organization at large.Decisive, resourceful, passionate, agile, and creative with a willingness to continually learn and expand responsibilities to support the evolving and growing needs of the business.Strong business acumen to identify, assess, and weigh risks while understanding and addressing the needs of the business.Incredibly organized, precise / high attention to detail, and very responsive to department and client requests.Familiarity with US and EU data protection and privacy laws and experience in commercial lending is a plus but not required.Juris Doctor (J.D.) and admission in good standing to one state bar or equivalent. Candidates who can work locally at the Ft. Lauderdale headquarters and in the eastern time zone are preferred.
