iBUYPOWER is seeking a detail-oriented IT Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in IT support, with experience in Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Windows OS creation and imaging. The role involves assisting in system installations, troubleshooting IT issues, and managing deployment tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and managing Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for system imaging and deployment.
- Create, configure, and maintain Windows OS images for efficient deployment.
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of Active Directory and Group Policy settings.
- Ensure proper configuration and deployment of new workstations across the organization.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of Windows-based systems.
- Maintain and update IT documentation related to deployment processes and IT policies.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, network devices, and workstations.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Support end-users with software installations, system setup, and access control.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- Hands-on experience with WDS, Windows OS imaging, and deployment tools.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
- Experience with Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
- Familiarity with PXE booting, Sysprep, and OS image customization.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory (AD), Group Policy (GPO), and domain environments.
- Knowledge of disk imaging tools such as Acronis, Clonezilla, or SCCM.
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DHCP, DNS).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation, familiarity with cloud-based deployments (Azure, Intune, Windows Autopilot), and knowledge of IT security best practices and endpoint protection is preferred.
- If hired, must provide proof of full vaccination on start date, unless prohibited by federal, state, or local law. Full vaccination means receiving the second dose in a two-dose series (i.e. Pfizer, Moderna), or a single-dose vaccine (i.e J&J). Examples of proof of full vaccination include an original, photocopied, or digitally completed vaccination card that includes name, type of vaccine provided, and date of last dose administered.
