Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment used in our cannabis production facility. This role focuses on ensuring smooth day-to-day production operations by addressing equipment issues, supporting staff, and optimizing workflows where necessary. The ideal candidate will be a reliable problem-solver with experience in operating and repairing industrial machinery, particularly in manufacturing or cannabis-related environments.
Job Description
· Operate, monitor, and maintain specialized production equipment, such as:
o Zero Cool HVAC system
o CO2 extractors
o Vacuum ovens
o Hydrocarbon or ethanol extraction systems
o Distillation units (short-path, wiped-film)
o Rotary evaporators
o Water filtration systems (e.g., reverse osmosis) and associated Plumbing
o Humidifiers/Dehumidifiers
o Green Vault Packaging Automation System
o Security Camera System
· Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues to minimize downtime.
· Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
· Collaborate with production teams to address machinery-related challenges and support their operations.
· Document repair logs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintenance schedules for all equipment.
· Train staff on the proper use and care of equipment.
· Assist with process improvements when opportunities arise, ensuring compliance with safety and industry regulations.
Job Qualifications
· Must be 21 years of age or older and able to successfully register with the state's cannabis commission as an agent.
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
· 3–5 years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or manufacturing operations, preferably in cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical production.
· Demonstrated ability to maintain and repair industrial equipment, including systems involving water, pressure, and temperature controls.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach to equipment issues.
· Basic understanding of cannabis production processes is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.
· Certifications in equipment repair, industrial maintenance, or related areas are a strong advantage.
· Experience with Microsoft Office (including but not limited to 365, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
· Experience with ERP systems preferred.
· Detail Oriented/strong attention to detail.
